Musuloskeletal cupuncture or dry needling addresses tissue inflammation and tension that occur in trigger points within muscles and around joints.

Releasing these trigger and tension points allows for less irritation in the muscle and joint structures and may decrease pain.

There are different techniques used with dry needling being stronger, deeper stimulation into localised muscle trigger and tension points and acupuncture techniques using more gentle, superficial stimulation applied to meridian channel points to bring the system back into homeostasis, on a constitutional level.

Musculoskeletal acupuncture and dry needling can treat:

  • stress/anxiety
  • muscle aches and pain
  • headaches
  • jaw dysfunction
  • insomnia
  • digestive complaints
  • pregnancy-related pain and labour preparation
